About Course
The increasing emphasis on corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and accountability has elevated the role of Human Resource Auditing within both public and private sector organizations in Kenya. Despite this growing demand, there remains a gap in structured, competency-based, and nationally certified training in Human Resource Auditing.
Olympia College proposes to offer the Certified Human Resource Auditor (CHRA) program to address this gap and build professional capacity in HR audit practice.
Program Objectives
- Equip HR professionals with practical competencies in HR auditing
- Promote compliance with labour laws, ethical standards, and HR best practices
- Develop skills in evaluating HR systems, policies, and performance
- Prepare candidates for certification through HRMPEB

| 4 | HR Auditing Standards & Frameworks | National/international audit standards, legal frameworks, professional ethics, fraud prevention |
| 5 | Audit Planning and Preparation | Scoping, planning, documentation, stakeholder mapping, sampling, evidence gathering |
| 6 | Audit Process and Execution | Evaluation, benchmarking, interpretation, audit tools (interviews, checklists, surveys, etc.) |
| 7 | HR Functional Area Audits | Recruitment, T&D, performance, compensation, compliance, employee relations |
| 8 | HR Risk & Internal Controls | Risk registers, internal controls, control evaluation, communication, fraud risk mitigation |

| 12 | Capstone Practical | Execution of institutional audits, presentation of final reports to external panel for certification |
Capstone Practicals and Evaluation
- Each participant will be required to conduct an actual HR Audit as part of the capstone practical.
- Selection and assignment of audit institutions will be finalized in Week 2, allowing Olympia College to issue formal letters requesting organizations to permit the
- Participants will commence their practical audits from Week 8
- The participant will present their capstone project before a panel comprising of HRMPEB representatives, industry HR auditor/expert, and Olympia faculty
Assessment and Certification
Assessment Structure
- Institution-Based & Online Learners
- Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA): 50%
- Final External Examination: 50% (HRMPEB)
- Private Candidates
- Final External Examination: 100% (HRMPEB)
Candidates who meet the examination requirements shall be awarded the Certified Human Resource Auditor (CHRA) Certificate by HRMPEB.

Upon successful completion, candidates will be able to:
- Conduct HR audits professionally and ethically
- Identify compliance gaps and HR risks
- Prepare audit reports and recommendations
- Support governance and organizational accountability

Entry Qualifications
- Diploma in Human Resource Management or related field
- Relevant HR work experience and/or professional membership (where applicable)
